Summer Reading for Fall 2019

Incoming Seventh Graders

Incoming Seventh Graders (standard level - not honors)

Incoming seventh-graders in standard level English will be able to earn extra credit in their English classes if they read one of the following three novels and take a multiple choice test on the novel during the first week of school.

Choices for seventh grade - standard level students:

  • Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan
  • The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis
  • Hoot by Carl Hiaasen

Incoming Seventh Graders (Literature and Composition I)

Honors (Literature and Composition I) students will turn in an assignment on the first day of school on the novel Hoot by Carl Hiaasen.  Please read the summer assignment paper carefully and follow all directions (updated June 27, 2019).

Note: You must be signed in with your N-MUSD Google account (ID#@nmusd.us) in order to access the assignment.  Your personal Gmail account will not work.

Incoming Eighth Graders

Eighth Grade Literature and Composition II Summer Reading

Please read the summer assignment paper carefully and follow all directions on the paper. This assignment is due at the beginning of the school year in September.

You should have signed up for your summer reading novel with your seventh grade Language Arts teacher.
